Juice Fast: Day 13

Not my normal Saturday schedule today. I'm usually at Five Points to open, train and teach. But today my son has his chorus event, so I've subbed everything out to get him to rehearsal in the morning and back to see the show this afternoon.

The change allowed me to start the day with a trail run in the woods with my dog, Forest. I wish we could do this every morning; it puts me in the best mood. "Run" might be a misnomer today -- there's so much snow that it was more of a trudge, but it was still awesome. We got there before the sun was up and stayed to see it rise. Nice.

Once we were home it was time to train. Weekends are bodyweight days for me. I enjoy the exercises (they make me feel as if my body is connected, if that makes any sense) and it's a break and a change from the external loading I do during the week.

Training:

Primal Move Warm Up
Tactical Pull Up ladder: 5,4,3,2,1
Pistol Squat ladder:  5,4,3,2,1 left and right
I did these as a non-stop superset, moving between exercises and steps of the ladder.
One Arm One Leg Push Up: 5 x 1 left and right
Ab Work: inverted pikes and crunches. I've use gravity boots on my pull up bar for these. And afterwards I hang for a couple minutes; it's great for the back.

The whole thing took all of twenty minutes, which still left me time to shave and shower before driving my son to rehearsal in Brooklyn for 9 am. He's got a long day: they rehearse util 1:30, have alunch break, then perform at 3. 

Juice Fast: today's Juice Press selection is their Basic Cleanse. 1060 approx calories; primarily green juices and also one of my favorites, Spicy Citrus.
