Today marked the half-way point of my 30 day juice fast. I've got nothing but good stuff to report to this point: feeling energetic, strong, and not hungry. I am missing the act of eating a bit, although the time on the fast has shown me there are many times when I eat out of habit or boredom, rather than actual hunger.
Today's Fast: Winter Solstice. Honestly, the juices today are all delicious -- this is like a day of treating myself.
Today's Training: Time to train splits today, which is always nice.
Strength Training:
20 minute uphill run for warm up
Kettlebell Swings: 10 x 10 one handed swings with 28kg/62lb bell. I rested just long enough to set the bell down, shake it off, and switch sides. Good, solid swings, each one explosive with a good float out of the bell.
Deadlift: 2 x 5 with 235 lbs. I felt very strong this morning, so I increased my weight by 10 lbs over last week. Still keeping it at about 70-80% of max effort, and treating it like practice.
Kettlebell Bench Press: 2 x 5 with 2 x 24kg/53lb bells.
Ab Work: Ab Wheel, 2 x 10.
Skill Training:
Skip rope, 20 minutes
Partner technique drills, 45 minutes
In the next few days, I plan to start reporting more on my students' training. I can only write so much about myself, and not sure why anyone would find it all that interesting, either.
Halfway! What an accomplishment, I hope the rest of the cleanse goes uphill (like your runs) from here.
