Wow. Three weeks into the fast -- time is flying. Hard to believe I've only got 9 days until the 30 day goal. Today's selection was the Juice Press Alternate Cleanse.
Sunday is my day off from Five Points, so most weeks it starts with a trail run in the park with my dog, Forest. Although with all the snow, the run is more of a shuffle, but it's still an amazing way to start the day. We're there before the sun comes up and stay until it's risen -- usually about an hour. It's a little cold in this weather but Forest doesn't seem to mind and it's such fun -- and such a great view and way to start the day -- that I don't either. We usually hit the back trails but there has been so much snow that they are pretty much impassable. But the bridal paths are clear enough for us to do our thing. Thanks, horses!
After the run, and since it's the weekend, it was another bodyweight day. We're home alone for the week, so I was able to turn up the music as loudly as I wanted. Industrial was on the plate today; Ministry, NIN, Rob Zombie remixes, Combichrist, KMFDM, etc.
Training:
Trail run with Forest for one hour
Air lunges, 10 x 1 left and right
One Arm One Leg Push Ups, 10 x 1 left and right
L-sit Chin Ups, 2 x 8
Strong First Mobility Drills
Short, sweet and done. It's Sunday, so I get to be a little lazy. Spent the rest of the morning reading and puttering around the house cleaning and doing little projects. In the afternoon Forest and I headed in to Five Points. No work -- although Forest got a run in -- but I was the guest on the Walking Alone podcast, hosted by one of our Five Points fighters/coaches, Cornell Ward and his friend Diego Lopez, who trains/coaches at Williamsburg MMA. They describe it as "two NYC fighters talk martial arts, diet, fitness, lifestyle and more, also we're very handsome." It was pretty entertaining; check out all the episodes out here.
