Another snowy day in New York City. Forest and I are home alone for the week, so he's coming in to Five Points with me every day. We took a walk around Chinatown and Soho this morning in the snow.
Today's Juice: living on the wild side again by mixing and matching my Juice Press selections:)
Body Fit, Gravity, Lait de Coconut, Volcano, Perfect Pear, Pink Punk
While I may be on the on the juice -- and my diet is plant-based even when I'm eating normally -- my dog Forest is a serious carnivore. And since he's been so good on the long days at the gym, he gets some dog-tasty rewards. Forest can do some serious damage to a marrow bone. He 's not happy until all the tendons are off, the bone is cracked open and the marrow is gone. He's got the cleanest teeth you've ever see on a dog.
Training:
Strength Training:
Warm Up: StrongFirst Mobility Drills
Turkish Get Ups: 2 x 5 left and right with 24 kg kettlebell
Zercher Squat: 2 x 5 with 125 lb barbell
Double Kettlebell Rows: 2 x 5 with 28 kg bells
Ab Work: Ab Wheel, 2 x 10
Cool down: easy run with Forest, 15 minutes
Skill Training:
Skip Rope, 3 rounds
Bagwork: 30 seconds hard work on the bag, 30 second shadowbox for recovery for 36 minutes.
Music: Metal is pretty much the perfect complement to bag work as far as I'm concerned. Today was old school: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, etc.
Tuesday is a busy day filled with private students and one of my kettlebell classes, but it runs pretty much straight through so I'm done in the early evening. So it's an early night for Forest and me, with ample time to just take it easy at home with a book or a movie. I love those nights.
